Court House Gardens
This municipal building was completed in 1929 and
is considered by many as one of the most beautiful buildings in the nation.
Like most of Santa Barbara it was done in the Spanish-Moorish style. There
are tropical gardens and vast lawns surrounding it. The interior included
hand-painted ceilings, giant murals, rare art work, imported tiles, Tunisian
tile work, enormous chandeliers, and more. You can go up the 80 foot
clocktower for a panoramic view of the city. Open daily 9:00 pm to
5:00 pm. Admission is free.
