Santa Barbara Mission At Twilight
"Queen of the Missions" for its graceful beauty. Founded in 1786, is was the tenth of 21 Franciscan missions in California. Its settling was rather quiet, as far as missions go, and it still functions as a church for many. From the perspective of the Mission you get a true look at the evolution of our city. You can see how it has changed from a Chumash land to a Spanish land and finally to an American state. It has seen earthquakes that caused it to be rebuilt and illustrates the changing lifestyles of the people it served.
